Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advisory support on agricultural policy, agribusiness development, rural finance, and value-chain strengthening, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
  • Participate in field assessments, multi-stakeholder consultations, and situational analysis to inform program decisions and monitor regional project environments.
  • Contribute to the appraisal of bank-funded initiatives through review of implementation progress, compliance observations, high-level monitoring activities, and periodic follow-ups.
  • Support the identification and preliminary evaluation of agricultural financing prospects, partnership opportunities, and sectoral intervention areas within the designated region
  • Prepare policy notes, technical briefs, analytical reports, and background documents for internal use, high-level meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Engage with farmer cooperatives, extension systems, community-based organizations, private sector partners, and development agencies to enhance program effectiveness and information flow.
  • Track and document key activities, sector trends, and evolving regional initiatives to support evidence-based decision-making by the Directorate.
  • Represent the Directorate at official engagements, technical sessions, and field missions as assigned, and prepare subsequent reports.
  • Undertake cross-cutting assignments and any additional tasks required to advance the Director’s strategic and operational agenda.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, research, and technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of agricultural systems, value-chain dynamics, and rural development frameworks.
  • Experience with stakeholder coordination, field assessments, and development programs is desirable.
