Alimat Care Foundation (ACF), is a youth-led NGO established and incorporated in 2022. The organization actively advocates for the rights, welfare, and empowerment of women and girls in Northeast Nigeria, particularly in disadvantaged regions. Through comprehensive and evidence-based programs that is built on the principles of Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), ACF aims to, increase access to quality education for girls, end violence and harmful practices against women and girls, and provide an enabling environment for girls to thrive and contribute to their communities.
Role Summary
The Communications Volunteer will support ACF’s visibility, storytelling, and digital engagement efforts by documenting activities and managing communication content across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support content creation for social media, website, newsletters, and reports.
- Document project activities through photos, short videos, and written stories.
- Support branding and visibility in line with ACF and donor guidelines.
- Assist in managing social media platforms and engagement.
- Support development of IEC and advocacy materials.
- Archive communication materials and maintain media records.
Qualifications and Desired Skills
- Degree or background in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge and ability to use computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite, is a mandatory requirement for this position.
- Basic skills in photography, video editing, and graphic design (Canva or similar tools) is an added advantage.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms is an added advantage.
- Willingness to adhere to strict organizational policies and work schedule.

Volunteer Engagement Terms
- This is a full-time voluntary, non-salaried position.
- Selected volunteers will receive orientation, mentorship, and practical work experience.
- Subject to availability of funds, selected volunteers will receive a meagre monthly stipend to support cost of daily transportation to work.
- Volunteers will be provided with recommendation letters upon successful completion of the volunteering period, subject to performance.
