About the Role
- We are looking for a talented and passionate Content and Communication specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller with a strong understanding of digital content, cultural food narratives, and social media trends. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a genuine love for food, culture, and brand storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Video Content Creation
- Plan, shoot, and edit engaging cultural food videos that align with the brand's identity and voice.
- Produce short-form video content optimized for Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Stay up to date with current video trends, formats, and best practices across all platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
Graphic Design & Visual Content
- Design eye-catching graphics, banners, and visual assets for use across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and the brand's website.
- Ensure all visual content is consistent with brand guidelines, aesthetics, and messaging.
- Resize and adapt designs to meet each platform's specifications.
Blog Content Writing
- Research, write, and publish compelling blog posts that reflect the brand's tone, values, and cultural food focus.
- Ensure blog content is well-structured, engaging, and tailored to the target audience.
- Collaborate with the team to develop a consistent content calendar for blog publications.
Press Releases & LinkedIn Content
- Draft and publish professional press releases on LinkedIn to announce brand news, milestones, partnerships, and events.
- Maintain a polished and professional tone that strengthens the brand's credibility and public image.
Social Media Management Support
- Assist in the management and scheduling of posts across all social media platforms.
- Respond to customer queries via all our marketplaces, emails and social media handles
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages when needed, and help maintain an active online presence.
- Track content performance and provide insights to improve future content strategies.
SEO Awareness (Added Advantage)
- Apply basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles to blog posts, website content, and social media captions to improve visibility and organic reach.
- Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices where applicable.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Content Creator, Social Media Specialist, Customer support or similar role.
- Strong video production and editing skills (proficiency in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Proficiency in AI tools
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma).
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, their algorithms, and content best practices.
- A genuine interest in food, culture, and storytelling.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for aesthetics.
- Knowledge of SEO is an added advantage
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or certification in Marketing, English Language, English Literature, Communications, Media Production, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience working with food or lifestyle brands
- Experience with Shopify store
- A portfolio or samples of previous content work (videos, graphics, blogs, etc.).
- Familiarity with social media management tools
