Position Summary
- The Content Creator is responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and editing engaging video content across multiple client accounts, with a primary focus on short-form video for social media platforms.
- This role requires a creative self-starter who can handle the full video production process - from ideation and filming to editing and optimization - while maintaining brand consistency and meeting strategic objectives.
- You'll work closely with the Creative Strategist, Social Media Manager, and Creative Designer to produce scroll-stopping video content that drives engagement and supports client business goals.
- This is a hands-on production role that values creativity, technical proficiency, and an understanding of what makes content perform in the Nigerian digital landscape.
What You'll Do
Video Content Production:
- Shoot and edit high-quality short-form video contentfor Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook, including product showcases, behind-the-scenes content, tutorials, and brand storytelling
- Develop creative concepts for video content that align with client brand identity and campaign objectives
- Handle all aspects of video production including filming, lighting setup, audio recording, and on-location direction
- Edit video content with engaging cuts, transitions, text overlays, sound design, trending audio, and effects that match platform best practices
- Optimize videos for different platform specifications and aspect ratios (9:16, 1:1, 16:9)
- Stay current with trending formats, sounds, and content styles across social media platforms
- Create long-form video content when needed for YouTube, website, or other platforms.
Content Strategy & Execution:
- Participate in content planning sessions, bringing creative ideas and production insights to the table
- Develop content shot lists and production plans for client shoots based on creative briefs
- Collaborate with the Creative Strategist and Social Media Manager to ensure content aligns with overall campaign strategy
- Adapt trending content formats for different client brands while maintaining authenticity
- Monitor content performance and adjust creative approaches based on engagement data
- Script video content that balances entertainment value with strategic messaging
On-Site Production & Client Interaction:
- Conduct on-location content shoots at client premises, managing setup, shooting, and breakdown efficiently
- Direct non-professional talent (business owners, staff, customers) during shoots with patience and clear communication
- Manage content production timelines to ensure deliverables meet campaign deadlines
- Maintain professional client relationships during shoots and production activities
- Scout locations and plan shoot logistics for optimal content quality
- Capture B-roll footage and supplementary video content during client shoots
Workflow & Collaboration:
- Work from creative briefs and content calendars, asking clarifying questions to understand content objectives
- Organize and manage digital assets including raw footage, edited videos, and project files
- Deliver content according to established timelines, communicating proactively about production challenges
- Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining creative vision and brand alignment
- Manage multiple client projects simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment
- Communicate effectively via team chat platforms and WhatsApp.
What You'll Need
Essential Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in video content creation, video production, or social media content (agency or multi-client experience preferred)
- Strong video shooting and editing skills (MANDATORY)- proven ability to produce engaging short-form content from concept to final edit
- Proficiency in video editing software( CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools)
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and what video content performs well on each
- Experience with on-location shooting including basic lighting, audio, and composition
- Knowledge of current content trends, viral formats, and platform-specific best practices
- Portfolio demonstrating diverse video content creation work across different styles and formats
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve production challenges on the fly
- Strong organizational skills for managing content libraries, shoot schedules, and deliverables
- Understanding of Nigerian social media landscape and what resonates with local audiences
- Professional demeanor for client-facing interactions during shoots
- Comfortable filming with both professional cameras and smartphones depending on project needs
What Will Set You Apart:
- Bachelor's Degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Visual Arts, Mass Communication, or related field
- Experience with trending content formats (transitions, POV content, day-in-the-life, product demos, tutorials, etc.)
- Motion graphics skills in Adobe After Effects or similar tools
- Graphic design capabilities with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for creating video thumbnails and supporting graphics
- Experience with professional camera equipment (DSLR, mirrorless cameras) beyond smartphones
- Drone videography skills
- Color grading and advanced video editing techniques
- Experience creating content for specific industries (food/beverage, fashion, lifestyle)
- Understanding of content performance metrics and data-informed creative decisions
- Experience with live streaming or event coverage
- Knowledge of basic copywriting for video scripts and captions
- Sound design and audio mixing skills
- Experience with team collaboration platforms (Zoho Workplace, Slack, or similar).
