Responsibilities

  • Cabling Installation: Plan, install, and maintain data/network cabling infrastructure for our clients, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues related to data/network cabling, ensuring efficient problem resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cabling layouts, configurations, and changes.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance procedures on installed cabling systems to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines, industry standards, and Linx Networks Ltd's policies during all phases of cabling projects.
  • Client Support: Provide technical support to clients, addressing inquiries and issues related to data/network cabling.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data/Network Cabling Technician or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of data cabling standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency in the installation and termination of various cabling types (e.g., CAT5e, CAT6, fiber optics).
  • Familiarity with network equipment and configurations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, RCDD) would be an advantage.
