Job Description:
- Nigerian British University (NBU) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support our Data Management Specialist Team. The ideal candidate will assist in collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive informed decision-making across academic and administrative units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Data Management team in executing data-related tasks and projects.
- Clean, structure, and analyze large datasets to uncover trends and insights.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support academic and operational goals.
- Identify data patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with departments to understand their data needs and deliver actionable outputs.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, charts).
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying databases.
- Proficiency in either R or Python for data analysis and automation.
- Excellent pattern recognition skills and a strong sense of intuition in working with data.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO SCHOOL LOCATION
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in higher education or institutional research is an added advantage.
