The Federal University Otuoke (FUO), is one of nine new Federal Universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in February 2011. Located in the heart of the oil-rich Niger-Delta Region of Bayelsa State, the University which is 21 kilometres South of the State capital of Yenagoa, occupies an expanse of 200 hectares (494 acres) in the Ijaw town of Otuoke. Currently we have two Faculties: Faculty of Humanities/ Social Sciences which has 2 Departments and six programmes, and Faculty of Science which has 3 Departments and six programmes. Come September 2014, two new Faculties (Engineering/Technology and Business Management Sciences) will be added to our suite, while a Graduate School to prepare for when we begin to offer postgraduate degrees will also commence.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess a good Honours Degree from a recognised university in Mass Communication, English Studies or other relevant field in the Humanities or Social Sciences plus National Youth Service Certificate (NYSC) or Evidence of Exemption.
- Candidates must have SSCE/NECO/WASSC/GCE O’Level credit in five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics with at least Twelve (12) years cognate experience plus registered membership of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and other requirements in the Federal University Otuoke, Rules & Regulation Governing Conditions of Service of Senior Staff 2023**.
