- We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer who can build complex, high-performance websites and also properly structure WordPress sites for SEO. This includes technical SEO setup, clean site architecture, schema, speed optimization, and on-page best practices — not just installing SEO plugins.
- This role is for developers who are strong in custom WordPress coding and advanced builds, not basic drag-and-drop work.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain complex WordPress websites
- Develop custom themes, plugins, and advanced site functionality
- Implement advanced layouts, interactions, and animations
- Properly structure WordPress websites for SEO (technical + on-page)
- Set up clean URLs, headings, schema, internal linking, and SEO-friendly architecture
- Optimize websites for speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile responsiveness, and SEO
- Write clean, scalable PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Debug, improve, and maintain existing WordPress projects
- Work independently in a fully remote environment
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years experience working with WordPress
- Strong proficiency in WordPress core, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Proven ability to build complex WordPress websites with custom functionality
- Strong understanding of WordPress SEO structure and technical SEO
- Ability to properly implement headings, metadata, schema, internal linking, and site architecture
- Experience optimizing sites for speed and search engine performance
- Portfolio showing real, complex WordPress projects (mandatory)
Nice to Have
- Headless WordPress or REST API experience
- Experience working closely with SEO teams or content teams
