About the Role
- As an AI Automation and Governance Instructor, you will design, build, and deliver comprehensive training in AI automation, governance, and responsible AI deployment. You’ll develop high-quality learning materials (notebooks, slides, simulations, and assessments), lead engaging lectures and workshops, and continuously improve content based on learner and client feedback.
- You’ll operate at the forefront of AI transformation—teaching not only how to build AI automation systems but also how to govern, audit, and deploy them ethically and safely.
- Instructors serve as mentors, thought leaders, and role models for learners enrolled in our AI Automation & Governance Program, which prepares professionals to deliver compliant, ethical, and efficient AI-driven automation solutions across industries.
Curriculum Strategy, Design & Delivery
- Design and deliver curriculum on AI automation, safety, and governance frameworks (e.g., OECD, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001).
- Develop course content tailored to Nigeria and UK apprenticeship standards, ensuring global relevance.
- Incorporate responsible AI principles and risk management methodologies into all modules.
- Translate complex topics—such as model transparency, explainability, and AI system lifecycle management—into accessible, practical learning.
- Align content with enterprise AI transformation goals, emphasizing accountability, auditability, and ethical deployment.
AI Automation, Safety & Governance Engineering
- Hands-on experience deploying and monitoring AI automation solutions across enterprise workflows.
- Demonstrate AI model governance practices—from data lineage and bias detection to compliance documentation.
- Introduce learners to AI auditing frameworks, AI risk registers, and compliance impact assessments (AIA/PIA).
- Showcase practical applications of AI workflow tools (e.g., Zapier, n8n, Robocorp) integrated with safety and governance protocols.
- Educate on AI observability and policy enforcement tools to ensure responsible automation.
Learner Mentorship, Work Experience & Career Coaching
- Mentor students in AI governance processes, automation lifecycle management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct one-on-one mentorship sessions, guiding learners through their automation and governance projects.
- Foster a growth mindset, helping learners approach AI development with a blend of innovation and accountability.
- Track learner progress using governance maturity metrics, project KPIs, and risk-assessment performance indicators.
- Support learners in developing AI compliance portfolios aligned with industry best practices.
Hands-On Learning & Simulations
- Facilitate practical labs in AI workflow automation, governance documentation, and compliance evaluation.
- Guide learners through end-to-end AI project simulations—from automation design to responsible deployment.
- Build learner competence in prompt engineering, LLM integration, model validation, and AI audit trails.
- Provide real-world case studies involving AI incidents, governance failures, and ethical decision-making scenarios
Collaboration & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with the curriculum and program design teams to align learning outcomes with industry certifications and ethical AI frameworks.
- Host guest sessions with AI ethics and governance professionals, building an expert learning community.
- Lead group capstone projects integrating automation and governance principles for enterprise use cases.
- Encourage peer learning, accountability circles, and governance review boards to simulate industry practice.
Assessment & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate student projects and capstone deliverables using structured rubrics aligned with AI governance standards.
- Use learner feedback, analytics, and industry insights to iterate content and delivery models.
- Stay current with emerging AI policies, frameworks, and compliance regulations to ensure content relevance.
- Contribute to internal discussions on AI ethics, governance maturity, and automation best practices.
Metrics & Reporting
- Monitor and report on learner performance, engagement, and compliance understanding.
- Provide actionable insights for curriculum refinement and learner success tracking.
- Maintain transparent records of learner outcomes, governance competencies, and instructional impact.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
The department collaborates closely with:
- Product & Curriculum Design Team (for course development and innovation).
- Marketing & Admissions (to align academic offerings with market needs).
- Student Success and Career Services (to connect learning outcomes with career pathways and future proof careers).
- Technology Team (to optimise the LMS and digital learning experience).
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in AI automation, governance, or compliance-led technology delivery.
- Proven expertise in AI process automation and ethical AI governance (enterprise or consulting environment).
- Solid understanding of AI frameworks, risk controls, and governance standards (e.g., ISO/IEC, NIST AI RMF).
- Proficiency in AI automation tools such as n8n, Zapier, UiPath, or Power Automate.
- Familiarity with AI auditing, compliance reporting, and policy alignment.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
- Prior teaching, coaching, or training experience preferred.
- Certifications in AI ethics, governance, or automation engineering are a strong advantage.
- Working knowledge of project and change management tools (e.g., Jira, Miro, HubSpot).
