Job description
- We are seeking dynamic, commercially minded Brand Managers with a proven ability to grow consumer brands within competitive markets. The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative, with an ownership mindset and a strong bias for execution. This role is critical to translating brand strategy into market-winning plans that drive growth, consumer loyalty, and long-term equity.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in brand management, trade marketing, or consumer marketing within the FMCG, cosmetics (preferred, for example work experience with Lorna Nigeria, Rebecca Hair Fashion, Nature’s Gentle Touch, Visita etc) or personal care.
- Experience managing a portfolio or launching new products is a plus.
- Has hands-on experience driving brand growth through campaigns, trade activations, digital engagement, and in-store visibility programs.
- Understands product lifecycle management, market research analysis, pricing strategy, competitor tracking, and demand generation.
- Demonstrates a strong grasp of go-to-market planning, including close collaboration with sales, supply chain, production, and creative teams.
- Has led or significantly contributed to successful brand repositioning, product launches, or channel expansion efforts.
- Comfortable working with data and KPIs, using tools like Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and digital performance dashboards.
- Can balance strategic thinking with operational discipline, and is proactive, hands-on, and resourceful.
- Ideally has experience working in entrepreneurial or growth-stage companies, where adaptability and ownership are critical.
- Should have a consumer-first mindset and an appreciation for product quality, branding consistency, and market nuances.
- Demonstrates leadership and maturity to influence internal teams and external vendors, even without direct authority.
- A good cultural fit would be resourceful, responsive, solutions-driven, organised, work well in a team and confident without an ego.
Preferred Educational Background:
- A degree in Marketing, Business, or related fields. MBA or post-grad marketing qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
