Who We're Looking For
- We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team for a duration of 2-months.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable backend systems, experience in fintech or banking, and a passion for building solutions that drive financial inclusion in Africa.
What You'll Do
- Architect, design, and implement software applications for our digital payment platform.
- Develop new features from inception to deployment, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable.
- Write robust documentation to support new and existing functionalities.
- Build and maintain integrations with various vendors and financial institutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and compliance, to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Solve complex problems related to large-scale money movement and sensitive financial data.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, preferably in a high-scale banking or fintech organization.
- Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as NodeJS, TypeScript, NestJS.
- Knowledge of frontend libraries and frameworks such as ReactJS, React Native, NextJS will be an added advantage.
- Solid knowledge of OOP, DBMS, and ORMs.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and microservices.
- Solid understanding of banking systems, financial transactions, and payment processing.
- Experience with version control tools such as git and github.
- Knowledge of banking protocols, APIs, and security standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
