This role involves verifying the accuracy and completeness of candidate’s information, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and analyzing data to support decision-making. As the Verifications Officer, you will be responsible for providing support to the Verifications unit on their mandate to conduct accurate and swift verifications, using your expertise in data analytics to gather data, analyze data and prepare data reports.
- Conduct comprehensive background checks on candidates, including criminal history, academic verification, reference checks, etc.
- Utilize various tools and databases to gather relevant information.
- Analyze the data collected during background checks to identify inconsistencies, red flags, and discrepancies.
- Use data insights to make informed recommendations
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to background checks.
- Ensure that all background checks are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Create detailed and accurate reports summarizing the results of background checks and data analysis.
- Present findings to relevant stakeholders, highlighting potential risks and areas of concern.
- Continuously improve background check processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Suggest and implement enhancements to the tools and technologies used in background screening.
- Communicate with candidates to obtain necessary information and documentation.
- Build relationships with relevant stakeholders in academic institutions
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive candidates’ information and background check data.
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven experience in background check/ verifications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and draw insights from data.
- Knowledge in regulations pertaining to background checks.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
