Advantage Health Africa is the umbrella for these various initiatives and venture, established in January, 2017 and began full operations in July of the same year. AHA was born out a desire to see significant performance improvement in the healthcare industry, particularly in business improvement and patient care treatment outcomes. The first entry point has been via use of technology in improving access to medicines (my-medicines.com) and skills development (AHA Capacity development initiatives). The AHA team has also championed two core sector-wide initiatives in pharmacy, the aggregation and clustering of retail pharmacies (CPN Nexus) and the stimulation of young leaders with a mindset to take on challenges as opportunities (the PLSP).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous research on social media, digital, and brand communication trends to develop content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Plan, develop, and manage a comprehensive content calendar across all social media platforms.
  • Create compelling, on-brand content for social media, email campaigns, websites, newsletters, and other brand touchpoints.
  • Work closely with the creative team to produce visually appealing and impactful brand and marketing materials.
  • Manage and grow the company’s social media presence, including post scheduling, community management, and response to comments and inquiries.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance and engagement metrics, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Support the development and execution of integrated brand and social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Assist in coordinating marketing campaigns, events, promotions, and product launches.
  • Liaise with external vendors, creative agencies, printers, and partners to ensure effective execution of brand initiatives.
  • Support the production of in-house magazines and generate editorial and long-form content.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the marketing team, including organizing meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining brand and marketing databases.
  • Carry out additional strategic responsibilities as assigned by management or executive leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in brand communications, social media management, or content creation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong copywriting ability.
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms, content scheduling, community engagement, and basic reporting.
  • Experience working in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries is an added advantage.
  • Experience creating or managing print and digital publications such as magazines, newsletters, or long-form content.
  • Certifications in digital marketing, content strategy, or social media management are a plus.
  • Basic video shooting and editing skills for short-form content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok).
  • Good understanding of local market trends and audience insights.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in social media management tools (Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Buffer, Later).
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms (Facebook/Instagram Insights, X/Twitter Analytics, Google Analytics) and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Sendinblue) and basic CRM/database management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canva; experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of CMS platforms such as WordPress and best practices for publishing web content.
  • Strong project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Creative storyteller with strong attention to detail and brand consistency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
  • Problem-solving mindset, adaptability, and professionalism, particularly when handling confidential information and leadership reports.
