Job Summary

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will provide strategic leadership for all technology functions, ensuring the development and optimization of secure, efficient, and innovative IT systems that support the company’s long-term business goals.
The ideal candidate must come from the pension industry—preferably from a Pension Fund Custodian (PFC) or Pension Fund Administrator (PFA)—and possess strong knowledge of PenCom regulations, custody operations, data governance, and cybersecurity.

This role requires a visionary technology executive capable of driving digital transformation, strengthening IT infrastructure, enhancing cybersecurity posture, and aligning technology initiatives with organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Compliance

  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide IT strategy aligned with business goals and PenCom regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with financial-sector regulations, data privacy standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and internal IT governance policies.

Infrastructure, Security & Operations

  • Oversee all IT infrastructure, including data centers, servers, networks, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity systems.
  • Ensure maximum uptime, operational reliability, and protection of mission-critical applications and data.

Digital Transformation

  • Lead workflow automation and technology modernization initiatives across custody operations and internal departments.
  • Introduce digital tools that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

IT Governance & Project Management

  • Direct major IT projects from conception to deployment, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Evaluate technology trends, risks, and cost structures to guide executive decision-making and investment priorities.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with senior leadership, regulators, and business units to ensure IT initiatives support organizational priorities.
  • Manage external vendors, negotiate technology contracts, and oversee third-party integrations.

Business Continuity & Risk Management

  • Maintain and periodically update disaster recovery plans, backup procedures, and business continuity frameworks.
  • Mitigate IT-related risks and ensure resilience across all technology functions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISM, CISSP, ITIL, PMP, TOGAF highly desirable.
  • 8–10+ years progressive IT leadership experience, with mandatory experience in the pension industry (PFC or PFA) or other regulated financial services.
  • Strong track record managing complex IT ecosystems, cybersecurity operations, and ERP environments.
  • Deep knowledge of PenCom guidelines, custody operations, IT governance, and data management.

Key Competencies

  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to define and execute long-term IT strategies.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with Microsoft Business Central (BC), ERP systems, cloud computing, and cybersecurity technologies.
  • Regulatory Insight: Strong understanding of pension industry compliance requirements.
  • Project & Vendor Management: Proven experience managing large-scale IT projects and third-party vendors.
  • Communication & Influence: Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic and decision-making abilities.
