Position Summary
- The Communications and Programs Intern will provide support in communications, program delivery, data management, and volunteer engagement. The role is ideal for a motivated individual passionate about nonprofit work, health advocacy, and community impact, who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Media
- Assist in creating visually appealing graphics, captions, and articles related to cancer awareness, fundraising campaigns, Foundation outreaches/events, and patient stories for the Foundation’s communication channels.
- Assist in creating and maintaining website content, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Track analytics for social media and website performance, providing regular reports on audience engagement.
- Capture and organize high-quality photos and videos during Foundation events and support video production for campaigns.
- Draft engaging content for quarterly newsletters and support other internal and external communications as assigned.
Programs & Administrative Support
- Provide programmatic and administrative support to the work of the Foundation.
- Draft agendas and minutes of meetings.
- Support with organizing outreach activities, events, and fundraising campaigns.
- Provide support in engaging with volunteers, members of the Foundation’s Support Group, and other stakeholders.
Data & Research
- Organize and maintain databases to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Support the analysis of data using appropriate tools and methodologies.
- Prepare reports and presentations based on data findings for internal and external use.
- Identify and compile a comprehensive list of relevant grant opportunities from institutions and organizations.
Other Duties
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned to support the Foundation’s mission and goals.
Qualifications
- A recent graduate, or early-career professional with an interest in public health program implementation, communications, social sciences, or related fields.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of social media management and content creation (graphics, short videos, captions).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with Canva or similar design tools is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate within a team.
- Passion for nonprofit work, cancer awareness, and community impact.
