Job Summary
- As a Scrum Master, you will be a facilitator and coach for the development team, guiding them in adhering to Agile principles and the Scrum framework.
- Your mission is to create a productive environment where the team can deliver high-quality software products by removing impediments, fostering collaboration, and ensuring continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach and guide the Scrum team on adhering to Agile principles and practices, and ensure they understand and follow Scrum theory, guidelines, and practices.
- Help the Product Owner manage the product backlog effectively.
- Remove any impediments or blockers that are hindering the team's progress.
- Shield the team from external distractions and interruptions.
- Promote a collaborative and transparent team environment.
- Liaise with stakeholders to improve visibility and clarity about the teams work.
- Encourage continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Resolve conflicts within the team and promote constructive disagreement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management with minimum of 3 years of experience in managing software development teams using Agile Methodology.
- Solid knowledge of Agile frameworks and methodology, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Agile Scrum Master Certification (e.g., CSM, PSM II) is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Proficiency in servant-leadership, conflict resolution, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
- Status: Local contract with Baobab Microfinance Bank, Nigeria.
