Position Summary:
- Food Health Systems Advisory (FHSA) is an advisory firm providing technical, research, and strategic services across food systems, nutrition, and climate. We work with private sector clients, development partners, foundations, and public institutions.
- We are seeking a creative, curious, and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Communications, Design & Graphics Intern. This internship role is ideal for a well-rounded, adaptable individual who is passionate about communications, design, and graphics and eager to gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.
- The intern will play a key role in supporting communication efforts, managing social media content, creating visual graphics. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across teams, supporting projects that combine creative storytelling, design, and digital innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Communications, Marketing & Content Development
- Support cross-platform social media management, including content creation, scheduling, publishing, and audience engagement across multiple platforms.
- Assist with the planning and execution of marketing and communication campaigns, both digital and offline.
- Support content publication across various digital and marketing channels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align marketing and communication outputs with organisational goals and brand messaging.
- Support content performance tracking, analytics, and reporting.
Design & Creative Development
- Support the development of high-quality digital and print materials, including graphics, infographics, reports, presentations, and marketing assets using Canva, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Apply design principles to create visually engaging, clear, and effective materials.
- Maintain visual consistency and brand integrity across all communication and marketing outputs.
Analytics, Reporting & Insights
- Monitor and analyse social media and campaign performance to inform content and marketing strategies.
- Assist in preparing reports and dashboards highlighting key metrics, trends, and insights.
- Support data-driven decision-making by helping translate analytics findings into actionable recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support collaboration with teams such as Research, Program, Strategy, HR, and Technical Services to contribute to communication and marketing initiatives.
- Provide assistance on cross-functional projects under the guidance of supervisors or team leads.
- Participate in brainstorming, planning, and review sessions to gain exposure to organisational processes and workflows.
- Learn from and support team members by contributing creative, marketing, and analytical inputs as needed.
Requirements
- Completed NYSC with a background in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Understanding of social media platforms, digital marketing, and content creation
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Zoho Social, Meta Business Suite, Hoot-suite)
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, or similar)
- Experience or interest in using AI tools for content creation, design, or marketing automation
- Comfortable working with digital content formats (images, infographics, video snippets)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creative mindset with attention to visual details and brand consistency
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn, take directions, and seek feedback
