Job Description

  • A Computer Operator manages and maintains computer systems, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Their duties include monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • They may also be involved in data entry, equipment preparation, and assisting with system testing and debugging.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Monitoring and Control: Observing computer systems and networks, responding to error messages, and taking corrective actions.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving hardware and software issues, and escalating complex problems to the appropriate personnel.
  • Routine Maintenance: Performing tasks like data backups, software updates, and equipment maintenance.
  • Data Management: Entering, processing, and managing data according to established procedures.
  • Equipment Preparation: Setting up and preparing equipment for daily operations.
  • System Testing and Debugging: Assisting in testing and debugging new systems and programs.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining records of system operations, errors, and maintenance activities.
  • Communication: Communicating effectively with users, team members, and supervisors.
  • Security: Ensuring the security of computer systems and data.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor’s Degree with 3 - 4 years work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and operating systems (like Windows, macOS, or Linux).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures closely.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide technical support and assistance to users.
