Data Asset Privacy, Consent and Compliance at Roche

  • We are currently looking for Data Asset Privacy, Consent and Compliance roles as a part of the Data Asset Management (DAM) team that is part of the Advanced Analytics for Business Insights (AABI) within Global Product Strategy.
  • The DAM team is responsible for securing and creating value from data assets, in addition to building and operating our next generation data management platforms that will identify critical business issues and opportunities for the strategic direction of Roche.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops and maintains an in-depth understanding of current data related legislation and regulations that pertain to healthcare and privacy compliance at the global level
  • Develops and maintains an in-depth understanding of Roche’s business, organizational structure, reporting relationships, core business practices, policies & procedures, as these relate to data processing and utilization of data
  • Drives proactive research, evaluation and recommendations associated with evolving healthcare and related compliance and ethics legislation and regulations, pertaining to data. Includes data policy benchmarking and staying abreast of other industry and marketplace developments and best practices
  • Oversees and guides annual and longer-range Data Asset Risk Assessment and Work Plan to define and direct Data related strategic objectives and key priorities, with appropriate guidance and remediation
  • Develops relationships with key internal business partners and stakeholders across CxI and Roche affiliates
  • Works with HCO Leadership and others to evaluate existing and evolving healthcare compliance, ethics and related legislation and regulations and other marketplace/industry dynamics to determine requirements for AABI and data/analytics policies & policy guidelines, practices, communications, training etc
  • Guides and directs CxO teams regarding new or amended healthcare and related data compliance and data ethics policies & policy guidelines
  • Plays a lead role in advising CxO leaders and affiliate leaders on interpretation of data related laws, regulations and ensuring the company’s strict and consistent adherence
  • Assists HCO teams authoring and implementing new or amended policies & policy guidelines, especially pertaining to data
  • Advises Roche global partners on affiliate level changes or other evolutions and the associated strategy / plan to address these. As appropriate, works with global partners to incorporate new or amended policies and processes, partnering with the other AABI functions
  • Assists HCO teams, as needed, on key internal investigations of actual or potential non compliance and decisions arising from such, particularly those decisions which may carry broad organizational impact (Especially pertaining to data assets)
  • Keeps AABI leaders and senior management, at all times, fully apprised on key compliance and ethics developments, whether internal or external, and the implications from such to current and future business data and analytics operations
  • Drives proactive identification of trends, dynamics or other factors influencing Roche’s overall data strategy and roadmap

Specifically, they will possess the following:

  • 5-10 years of experience in data compliance, privacy and consent or related work
  • 5-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology or closely related industry experience
  • Experience in working in an Agile (ideally DevOps and Scaled Agile) environment
  • People leadership skills and VACC mindset, open to Roche new ways of working
  • Demonstrated experience working in business and operational roles, successfully delivering results in global, cross-functional and decentralised organisations
  • Able to oversee & manage internal and external resources
  • Strong communication skills (in English) and ability to effectively facilitate difficult conversations
  • Education: Legal Degree, MBA or another related graduate-level degree is a plus
  • Able to travel globally +20% of the time

  • Knowledge of Privacy, consent and compliance topics, pertaining to Pharma GTM operations, especially relating to Data Assets
  • Agile mindset & experience
  • Proven collaborative spirit and teamwork, to thrive in matrix set up
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple terms (especially the privacy, consent and compliance topics to the broader CxI community)
