About the Role:
- We're seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team and drive data-informed decision-making across our food and grocery delivery operations. You'll be responsible for analyzing delivery patterns, customer behavior, and revenue trends to provide accurate forecasts that help us optimize our operations and grow sustainably.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forecasting & Predictive Modeling
- Develop and maintain forecasting models for daily/weekly/monthly delivery volumes and revenue projections
- Build predictive models to anticipate demand fluctuations based on seasonality, weather, events, and market trends
- Create algorithms to predict customer retention rates
Analytics & Insights
- Analyze order patterns, delivery times, customer preferences, and purchasing behavior to identify opportunities for improvement
- Evaluate the performance of promotions, marketing campaigns, and new product launches
- Conduct cohort analysis and customer segmentation to understand different user groups
- Monitor key metrics including order frequency, delivery efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Business Intelligence
- Design and build dashboards and reports for stakeholders across operations, marketing, and executive teams
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business strategy
- Partner with operations teams to optimize delivery routes, driver allocation, and inventory management
Data Infrastructure
- Work with engineering teams to ensure data quality and implement tracking for new features
- Develop automated reporting systems and alerting mechanisms for business-critical metrics
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in data science or analytics roles, preferably in e-commerce, logistics, or delivery services
- Strong proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis and machine learning
- Experience with SQL and working with large datasets
- Hands-on experience with forecasting techniques (time series analysis)
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- Strong communication skills with ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders
