Job Responsibilities
- The Head, Research will lead the Research Department, providing in-depth market intelligence, investment insights, and thought leadership to support the firm’s investment banking, asset management, and advisory businesses. This role is responsible for developing and executing the research strategy, managing a team of analysts, and producing high-quality reports to guide client and internal decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and implement the firm’s research strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of research analysts across asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Macroeconomics, etc.).
- Maintain high standards of research quality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Represent the firm’s research expertise at industry conferences, media appearances, and client forums.
Research & Analysis
- Oversee the production of equity, fixed income, macroeconomic, and industry research reports.
- Provide actionable investment recommendations to internal teams and external clients.
- Monitor and analyze economic trends, market movements, and regulatory developments.
- Ensure timely coverage of key sectors, companies, and market events relevant to the firm’s business.
Collaboration & Client Engagement
- Partner with investment banking and asset management teams to provide research input for deal origination, structuring, and pitchbooks.
- Engage with institutional clients, presenting insights and building relationships that strengthen the firm’s reputation.
- Support business development efforts by contributing to thought leadership and bespoke research for high-value clients.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure research processes adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards (e.g., CFA Institute Code of Ethics, SEC rules).
- Maintain robust data sources, models, and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- CFA Charterholder (or progress toward completion) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8–12 years’ experience in research (buy-side, sell-side, or economic research), with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, investment banking products, and macroeconomic drivers.
- Proven track record of publishing insightful research and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders.
