An ICT and Robotics Instructor designs and delivers engaging, project-based lessons in computer science, coding (Python, Scratch), and robotics (LEGO Mindstorms, Arduino). They foster STEM skills, manage laboratory equipment, prepare students for tech competitions, and align curriculum with national standards to enhance computational thinking. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction & Curriculum Development: Develop and implement lesson plans for ICT, coding, and robotics that align with school curricula.
  • Practical Robotics Training: Teach students to assemble, program, and troubleshoot robotics kits, sensors, and software.
  • Coding Proficiency: Instruct students in programming languages such as Python, Scratch, and block-based coding.
  • Classroom & Lab Management: Ensure a safe, productive, and inclusive environment, managing lab equipment and safety protocols.
  • Assessment & Mentorship: Monitor student progress, grade assignments, and mentor students for robotics clubs and competitions.
  • Collaboration: Work with teachers and administrators to integrate STEM initiatives into the broader school curriculum. 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Education, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) and experience with robotics platforms (e.g., LEGO Mindstorms, VEX).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for students.
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching ICT or coding in a Nigerian school setting is often required.
