Action Against Hunger | ACF International, a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger, works to save the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger.

ACF Nigeria is currently looking to fill the role of ICT Officer who will be responsible for all ICT-related issues and can provide basic support on Information Systems for the office and the sub-bases.

Key Responsibilities:

Mission 1: Network Management & User Support

 The ICT Officer is responsible for:

  • Installs and configures network resources for the office, the sub-bases, and the respective users.
  • Creates and manages network folder(s) and user backups according to the standards for common use by a group of common users (e.g., departmental folders) for the office and the sub-bases.
  • Carry out backups of some relevant users’ old data and kept in a safe location for the office and the sub-bases.
  • Closely support the Mission ICT Specialist in the design and configuration of the Local Area Network for the mission and take full responsibility for network administration and monitoring of users’ access to the network and all its resources for the office and the sub-bases.
  • Work with the HR team to manage user onboarding/offboarding ICT system accounts and access.
  • Guide staff on using the GLPI ticketing system and basic ICT tools.
  • Oversee the end?to?end management of ICT equipment, cash devices, and related accessories, including processing requests, coordinating loans and allocations, and maintaining an up?to?date register of issued items.
  • Track issuance, usage, and return compliance for all ICT assets on loan, ensuring accurate documentation and accountability.
  • Assess operational needs and assign ICT consumables appropriately in line with the approval of the Mission ICT Specialist to ensure equitable distribution based on functional requirements
  • Develop and maintain a proactive re?stocking plan for ICT consumables and frequently used accessories to prevent shortages and ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Supports the Mission ICT Specialist and the Roving Energy Officer in the deployment and management of all energy-related projects/tasks for the office and the sub-bases

 

Mission 2: Data Security and Software Management

 The ICT Officer is responsible for:

  • Carry out a backup of all users’ official data on the server ( OneDrive and NAS), and NAS files are backed up on the external drive at scheduled times for the office and the sub-bases
  • Securing all users' information/data against threats by installing anti-virus on all the computers and regularly updating the office and the sub-bases.
  • Installation of all users’ relevant applications on the respective user's computer
  • Supporting the Mission ICT Specialist in the deployment of all Information Systems for other  offices, including Jigawa and Yola
  • Managing the functionality of all CCTV systems and backing up of all CCTV footage for the offices

Mission 3: Equipment Procurement and Management

 The ICT Officer is responsible for:

  • Collaborates with the procurement team to see that all requested equipment/services are delivered with the right specifications
  • Coding/labelling of all procured equipment in close collaboration with the Mission ICT Specialist
  • Configuration/installation of equipment for all users of the office and sub-bases.
  • Creating and updating a hardcopy of all equipment folders with the equipment card and other relevant information for the sub-bases.
  • Allocate all requested equipment to the sub-base users with a well-documented Equipment Temporary Allocation Form.
  • Carry out proactive maintenance on all ICT equipment in the sub-base and always put them in  good working condition
  • Closely work with the external technicians or the Capital office for the repair of all equipment and the sub-base offices.
  • Carry out regular asset inventory and tracking for the sub-base and report the same to the Mission ICT Specialist
  • Closely supports the Mission ICT  in the design/maintenance/operations of the Equipment Tracking System (ETS)

Mission 4: Communication Service and Subscription Management

 The ICT Officer is responsible for:

  •  Allocate GSM lines to users and maintain the records.
  • Monitor the use of all GSM lines and report any abuse to the Mission ICT Specialist
  • Request for new GSM lines based on the needs in collaboration with the Mission ICT Specialist.
  • Provides support to all GSM users in collaboration with the Capital office
  • Closely monitors the delivery of all services by the service provider as agreed in the SLA to ensure that the agreed services are provided for the office and sub-bases.
  • Closely monitors the use of all communication services (internet, gsm, satallite and radio) for unprofessional use or any possible abuse  and report same to the Mission ICT Specialist

Mission 5: User Management

 The ICT Officer is responsible for :

  • Supports the Mission ICT Specialist  in managing all ICT projects for the office and sub-bases
  • Conducting ICT induction for all the staff of  and sub-bases
  • Periodically conduct training for all the users of  and sub-bases in collaboration with the Mission ICT Specialist
  • Configures all accounts (email, NHF, and other relevant platforms) for all users of  and sub-bases, and maintains the database for the same for the locations
  • Leads in the day-to-day user support and all requested supports are rendered within a reasonable time frame for users and sub-bases.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Higher National Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. A non-related field with professional certifications and a minimum of 7 years work related experience.
  • Professional certificate(s) and/or training in the ICT-related fields.
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in similar responsibilities is required.
  • Previous experience working for NGOs an asset, particularly international related NGOs
  • Capacity for analysis, synthesis and reporting of large amounts of information
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills ; approachable, diplomatic, able to maintain confidentiality ; able to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment
  • Fluency in English
