About the job
- The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience tackling various hardware and software problems. They should be comfortable providing technology solutions to employees and working closely with third party software companies to adopt new technologies and efficiently use existing ones.
- For an overall seamless operational experience, the IT Manager provides high quality support to Xcene regarding any IT problems or service requests that may rise. These involves the effective management, control, and protection of the Software assets within the company, along with being responsible for the design, implementation and administration of security technologies required to protect information assets, which are processed by or stored in Xcene information systems. The IT Manager ensures the reconciliation of measured software deployments to license and maintenance entitlements, and ensure all accounting, regulatory, corporate, and legal requirements are met and followed for IT software assets.
- This candidate should have prior experience working with information technology and understand the latest technology trends to ensure the technology in place is up to date.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the day-to-day operating environment, available tools, and applications. Maintain a working knowledge of Service Desk and IT Operations procedures related to company services.
- Provide support for business applications.
- Adhere to established IT policies, procedures and standards and ensure conformance with information systems goals and procedures.
- Mentor and train junior IT Executives.
- Oversight of all IT processes and responsibilities.
- Design, build and implement enterprise-class security systems
- Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats.
- Ensures that support requests are handled in a timely fashion to satisfy the needs of the user.
- Maintains server room/Main Distribution Frame and Independent Distribution Frames. Confirms all guests without badge access who enter server rooms has signed the check-in form. Resolves alarms and outages of IT systems; submits maintenance requests for facilities systems.
- Ensures IT hardware asset management database is accurately maintained by direct reports.
- Places IT hardware orders when requested and performs hardware receipt procedures following hardware deliveries.
- Maintains Software Contract Management databases.
- Manages and maintains software maintenance coverage to ensure timely renewals.
- Serves as a software licensing advisory - identifying risks, potential savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing and services
- Provide software licensing and compliance education to the team.
- Provide training to new employees and other training sessions as required.
- Create, analyze, report, convert, or transfer data, using specialized applications program software.
- Provide for the implementation, configuration, deployment, and support of systems, including, but not limited to client computing devices and servers.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Working knowledge of network design and virtualization techniques for servers, workstation, storage, and networks.
- Current software and data management systems appropriate for a work environment.
- Principles of resource, change, and asset management.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to solve PC related problems.
- Ability to translate licensing terms and conditions in vendor contracts to data collection/technical requirements.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) level of qualification in a relevant technical area (Security, Computer Sciences, other Sciences) or?equivalent combination of education and relevant IT work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in related field
- Experience in information technology space and solving various software and hardware problems
- Strong technical problem solving and communication skills
