Our company, Swift Networks is an Indigenous Internet Service Provider Company with outlets spread all over Lagos State. Our core services are the provision of high speed internet services, telephony and IP - VPN services to both residential and enterprise subscribers.
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor\\\'s Degree with a minimum classification of Second Class Honors (Upper Division) in Computer Science or a related field in Networking. Additionally, a minimum of five years of relevant post-qualification experience in a comparable role is required. Experience in the telecommunications sector will be considered a valuable asset.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Layer 3 core network infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of the Layer 3 network.
- Manage and optimize Layer 3 routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc.) for efficient traffic flow.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot Layer 3 network issues promptly.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to accommodate growth and new services at Layer 3.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and security to meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including Layer 3 network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in Layer 3 networking.
Experience-Education-Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Layer 3 network engineering.
- Proven experience managing large-scale Layer 3 IP networks, preferably in a service provider environment.
- Hands-on experience with Layer 3 network equipment from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead a team of network engineers effectively.
- Any relevant certifications or training in Layer 3 networking technologies would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and experience leading network projects from conception to implementation.
Essential Skills / Knowledge / Traits:
- Proficiency in Layer 3 networking principles and protocols.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, MPLS, and QoS.
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Layer 3 routers, switches, and firewalls from various vendors.
- Knowledge of Layer 3 network security concepts and best practices.
- Ability to analyze complex Layer 3 network issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills/Knowledge/Traits:
- Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies at Layer 3.
- Familiarity with network automation and scripting languages (Python, Ansible, etc.).
- Understanding of cloud networking principles and architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of IPv6 deployment and migration strategies.
- Experience with Layer 3 network monitoring and management tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent.
