Job Summary

  • The IT Executive / Network Administrator will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the organisation’s entire IT and network infrastructure across all facilities nationwide.
  • This position supports the IT Lead in overseeing departmental operations, including network administration, systems security, software and web development, IT support, and cloud infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly technical, and capable of balancing both leadership and operational responsibilities, from configuring firewalls to collaborating with software developers on new application rollouts.

Key Responsibilities
Network and Systems Administration:

  • Design, implement, and manage LAN/WAN infrastructure across all facilities, including laying cables, configuring routers, switches, wireless access points, and other networking devices.
  • Set up and administer servers (both cloud and on-premises), including Active Directory, group policies, and user access control.
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor firewalls, VPNs, and other network security systems to ensure robust protection against cyber threats.
  • Handle domain registration, DNS configuration, and SSL certificate management to ensure secure and reliable access to hospital websites and portals.
  • Proactively monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity or performance issues, and optimise for reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain PBX systems such as 3CX and other VoIP solutions for our call centers.
  • Administer and optimize AWS Cloud Infrastructure, including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM roles, and related cloud services.

IT Project Oversight and Development Support:

  • Serve as the point of contact with in-house and external developers to conceptualise and plan new IT web applications.
  • Participate in the design and development phase by offering technical input to merge the applications with the organisation’s needs.
  • Ensure that all applications adhere to security and performance standards required in a healthcare setting.
  • Conduct thorough testing of web applications and hospital software products to identify bugs and ensure functionality in line with business requirements.
  • Create testing scenarios, confirm that all features work as intended, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
  • Maintain documentation of testing processes and results, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with software developers during project iterations, testing, and deployment, ensuring system compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Support the IT Lead in managing the IT unit, such as Support, Web Development, and Systems Administration.

Technical Support and Operations:

  • Provide direct IT support when needed, including installing and configuring hardware, software, operating systems, and network peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for end-users across multiple sites.
  • Set up and maintain email systems (Outlook, Gmail), shared drives, and other collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
  • Manage IT asset inventory, ensuring proper documentation of hardware, software licenses, and warranties.
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery systems, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.

Training, Documentation, and Compliance:

  • Work with the team in developing and updating user guides, how-to manuals, and technical documentation for all systems and services.
  • Conduct staff training sessions on new and existing IT systems to promote effective use and cybersecurity awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection regulations, and security standards across the organization.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT architecture, configurations, and operating procedures for internal reference and audits.

Other Duties:

  • Assist the IT Lead in developing IT budgets, procurement plans, and technology upgrade strategies.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or improvements to optimize operations and strengthen security.
  • Provide after-hours or on-call support for critical systems as needed.
  • Other duties as required for the job role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration, systems administration, or IT infrastructure management.
  • Professional certifications strongly preferred, such as:
    • CompTIA Network+ / Security+
    • Cisco CCNA/CCNP
    • Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate)
    • ITIL Foundation (added advantage)
  • Proven experience managing LAN/WAN networks, including cabling, switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user access control.
  • Experience managing cloud environments, particularly AWS (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, etc.).
  • Practical experience working with PBX/VoIP systems, preferably 3CX.
  • Ability to configure and maintain firewalls, SSL certificates, DNS, and other network security tools.
  • Knowledge of web applications, SDLC, and the ability to collaborate with developers on system design, testing, and deployment.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, data protection, backup systems, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, system guides, and user manuals.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
  • Willingness to provide after-hours or on-call support when required.

Salary
N400,000 monthly.
