Job Summary 

The IT Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT systems, infrastructure, and networks. The role involves ensuring optimal performance of hardware and software, providing technical support to staff, safeguarding information systems through proper security protocols, and supporting the implementation of IT-related projects that drive organizational efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners. 
  2. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime. 
  3. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across IT systems. 
  4. Maintain and update network configurations, routers, switches, and other network devices. 
  5. Provide technical support and training to end users on hardware, software, and network-related issues. 
  6. Respond to service issues and requests in a timely manner through the IT helpdesk system. 
  7. Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for IT equipment and ensure optimal uptime. 
  8. Support remote work setups, including VPN and secure access systems. 
  9. Implement and maintain data backup and disaster recovery plans. 
  10. Ensure compliance with company policies on IT usage, data protection, and cybersecurity. 
  11. Monitor network activity and security events; escalate security breaches promptly. 
  12. Support periodic audits of IT systems and recommend corrective actions. 
  13. Maintain an updated inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and digital assets. 
  14. Liaise with vendors for procurement, repairs, and maintenance of IT-related items. 
  15. Evaluate new technologies and tools for potential adoption. 
  16. Support the deployment and integration of new business applications and technologies. 
  17. Assist in the implementation and documentation of IT projects in collaboration with external partners. 
  18. Conduct system tests, user training, and post-implementation reviews. 

Qualifications and Experience 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 
  2. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in IT support, network administration, or system management. 
  3. Strong understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems, LAN/WAN networks, and hardware troubleshooting. 
  4. Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration, Active Directory, and cloud computing tools (Azure, AWS, or Google Workspace). 
  5. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, firewalls, antivirus, and backup systems. 
  6. Familiarity with database systems, ERP/CRM applications, and basic scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is an advantage.
