Job Summary
- Vitel Wireless is seeking a competent and solutions-driven IT/Tech Support Officer to join our Lagos office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to internal staff and external partners, maintaining IT systems and network performance, and ensuring smooth day-to-day technical operations. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Provide technical assistance to both internal staff and external clients, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
- Manage partner and staff user accounts, including password administration and access control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network challenges efficiently.
- Document reported issues, solutions provided, and maintain accurate IT service records.
- Identify, document, and escalate software bugs and system glitches to the Networking/Development Team for resolution.
- Liaise with external vendors for system maintenance, upgrades, and technical repairs when required.
- Oversee the receipt, allocation, and reconciliation of product stock assigned to partners and sales staff.
- Address technical difficulties experienced by partners and staff to minimize operational downtime.
- Monitor and track transactions across all users to ensure accurate balances and proper refund processing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience in IT Support, Help Desk, or a similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with routers, switches, wireless networks, and basic cybersecurity practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
