Job Description

  • We are seeking a Project Management Data Analyst with 5 to 7 years of experience in analyzing project data to improve efficiency, track progress, and support strategic decision-making in infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to develop dashboards, track KPIs, and manage datasets related to large-scale water infrastructure development. 

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Analysis:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze project data including timelines, budgets, resource use, and progress reports.
  • Develop and maintain project dashboards and trackers for internal and donor reporting.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify delays, budget overruns, and performance issues.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare regular data-driven reports, including status updates, forecasting models, and risk analyses.
  • Support the preparation of donor reports and ensure alignment with reporting frameworks (e.g., World Bank guidelines).
  • Maintain documentation protocols and ensure integrity of project data storage.

Tool Development & Automation:

  • Design and implement tools for data visualization and automated reporting using Excel, Power BI, or other platforms.
  • Improve project workflows through use of technology and data analytics.
  • Recommend improvements to data capture and performance tracking methods.

Collaboration & Project Support:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and administrative staff to gather real-time data from the field.
  • Contribute to procurement and logistics planning through trend and cost analysis.
  • Support risk management strategies through data-driven forecasting and mitigation modeling.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • BSc/MSc in Statistics, Data Science, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in infrastructure or engineering projects.
  • Experience with international development projects or donor-funded programs is an advantage.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions), Power BI, SQL, or similar tools for data analysis and visualization.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or Asana.
  • Understanding of key project performance indicators (cost, time, quality, risks).

Compliance & Standards Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of World Bank or donor-funded reporting requirements is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian infrastructure development regulations and procurement standards.
