Job Summary
- The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions.
- You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance.
- The QA engineer role plays an important part in straitPay’s product development process.
- Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective.
- Ideally, we need someone with strong experience testing financial applications, particularly in a B2C environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify key KPIs for product quality
- Test current and new products and identify weak points and the need for optimizations
- Maintain and update automation tests
- Suggest solutions to identified product problems
- Investigate product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction
- Plan, create, and manage the overall quality planning strategy
- Collaborate with the product development team to ensure consistent project execution
- Collect quality data and identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in software testing, preferably in Fintech or SaaS.
- Previous experience with software QA tools and processes, as well as prior experience with a variety of different testing techniques, such as UI testing, automated testing, and test-driven development strategies.
- Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of web and mobile application testing.
- Ability to write clear bug reports and testing documentation.
- Team collaboration and time management skills.
Key Areas of Experience:
- Functional and regression testing for consumer facing financial or fintech products
- Experience validating user journeys such as onboarding, KYC, payments, transactions and account management
- Strong understanding of security, compliance and data privacy considerations within financial apps
- Familiarity with mobile app testing (iOS and Android), API testing and usability testing for high volume consumer platforms
- Ability to document defects clearly, work closely with engineering teams, and support structured release cycles.
