Job Description
- As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products across the development lifecycle. You will lead testing strategies, design robust test plans, and work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, prevent, and resolve issues early. You will bring expertise in both manual and automated testing practices, contribute to continuous integration pipelines, and mentor junior QA team members, ensuring a culture of excellence and precision in product delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and automated).
- Lead and own the QA strategy across multiple projects and product lines.
- Identify, track, and manage defects using standardized bug tracking tools.
- Collaborate with development, product, and DevOps teams to integrate quality checkpoints throughout the SDLC.
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks and suites for regression, integration, performance, and load testing.
- Ensure test coverage for web, API, mobile, and backend systems.
- Drive the adoption of test automation and CI/CD practices across teams.
- Provide detailed test reports with analysis and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Mentor and support junior QA engineers through code reviews and training sessions.
- Participate in release planning, sprint grooming, and retrospectives to advocate for quality at every stage.
- Champion performance, usability, and accessibility testing efforts.
- Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and regulatory testing requirements.
- Proactively identify areas of risk, gaps in coverage, or inefficiencies in testing practices.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years’ hands-on QA experience, including both manual and automation testing.
- Proficiency with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, or Rest Assured.
- Strong scripting skills in Java, JavaScript, Python, or other languages.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Mocha, PyTest, etc.).
- Solid experience with test case management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail).
- Deep understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
- Experience testing microservices-based architecture and cloud-native applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good to Have:
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner).
- Familiarity with container environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in testing AI/ML-enabled systems or data-driven platforms.
- Knowledge of security testing practices and tools (e.g., OWASP, Burp Suite).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications.
- Understanding of accessibility testing (WCAG compliance).
