Thewill Newspaper was founded in October 2009 as a robust Nigeria-focused independent news website by journalist and publisher, Austyn Ogannah, an advocate for good governance and promoter of change in Nigeria and Africa. The print and digital editions of the newspaper alongsideTHEWILLDOWNTOWN, the all gloss culture and lifestyle magazine insert, were subsequently launched on February 14, 2021, as a national weekly hybrid publication circulating nationwide in Nigeria.The newspaper operation is now supported by thirty dedicated team members with diverse skill sets.

Role Description

  • This is a contract hybrid role for a Webmaster based in Lagos, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work. The Webmaster will be responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining the organization's websites to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
  • Daily tasks will include website updates, troubleshooting, integrating e-commerce features, monitoring web analytics, and coordinating web-based projects.
  • The role also involves collaborating with the editorial and marketing teams to ensure alignment with content and business goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Web Design and understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) best practices
  • Extensive knowledge in E-Commerce platforms and tools integration
  • Strong skills in Programming languages commonly used for web development
  • Proficiency in Project Management to coordinate web initiatives and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and report data using Web Analytics tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a hybrid work environment
  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla) is a plus
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital marketing concepts is an advantage.
