Job Summary
- The CCTV Operator (Technical) is responsible for monitoring all surveillance systems and ensuring the technical functionality of the CCTV infrastructure across the organization.
- The role combines surveillance monitoring with basic technical support, ensuring smooth operation, troubleshooting, and timely escalation of CCTV-related issues to IT or external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Surveillance & Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor live and recorded CCTV footage across outlets, HQ, lounge, hotel, and other facilities.
- Detect and report suspicious activities, theft, misconduct, or policy breaches immediately.
- Maintain daily surveillance logs and prepare incident reports for the Security Department.
- Securely retrieve, back up, and store video evidence when needed for investigations.
Technical Support:
- Carry out regular checks and preventive maintenance of all CCTV systems to ensure functionality.
- Troubleshoot minor technical faults (camera disconnections, wiring issues, recording errors, NVR/DVR glitches).
- Escalate complex issues to the IT team or approved vendors while ensuring minimal downtime.
- Support the setup of new cameras, relocation, or reconfiguration of CCTV systems in collaboration with IT.
- Keep records of equipment status, repairs, and system upgrades.
Compliance & Confidentiality:
- Safeguard the confidentiality of all CCTV footage and information.
- Ensure surveillance operations align with company policies and data protection laws.
Other Duties:
- Provide technical guidance to the Security team on CCTV use.
- Assist management and audit teams in evidence gathering during investigations.
- Perform any other security or technical duties assigned by the CSO/Management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of OND/HND/B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Proven experience in CCTV operations with hands-on technical knowledge.
- Familiarity with CCTV software, DVR/NVR systems, IP cameras, and network-based surveillance.
- Ability to troubleshoot CCTV hardware and software issues.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to work shifts (day/night) and remain focused under pressure.
