Job Summary

  • We are seeking a creative and results-driven Communications Officer to join our dynamic team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our marketing and communication strategies to enhance our brand visibility, engage our target audience, and drive lead generation.
  • You will be instrumental in telling our story, promoting our solar solutions, and positioning Salpha Energy Limited as a leader in the Nigerian renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate & Internal Communications:

  • Draft and distribute press releases for company announcements, new projects, and partnerships.
  • Manage internal communications to ensure employees are informed about marketing initiatives, company achievements, and brand messaging.
  • Respond to corporate emails and enquiries on behalf of the company.
  • Monitor current events and trends, identify media opportunities and act upon them to obtain maximum coverage and share of voice for the organization.

Content Creation & Management:

  • Develop compelling and informative content for various platforms, including our website, blog, social media channels, email newsletters, brochures, and press releases.
  • Create engaging multimedia content, such as videos, infographics, and case studies that highlight our projects, products, and the benefits of solar energy.
  • Ensure all content is SEO-optimized, brand-consistent in terms of style and tone, and tailored to different target audiences (B2C and B2B).

Digital Marketing:

  • Manage and execute digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), email marketing, and search engine marketing (SEM).
  • Oversee the company's website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and optimized for lead conversion.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) using tools like Google Analytics and social media analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Event & Campaign Coordination:

  • Assist in organizing exhibitions, product demos, trade shows, and customer engagement events.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns, product launches, and seasonal promotions.

Public Relations & Brand Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, industry bloggers, influencers, and key stakeholders.
  • Manage the company's brand identity and ensure consistency across all marketing materials and communication channels.
  • Organize and represent the company at events, trade shows, webinars, and community outreach programs to increase brand awareness.

Customer Engagement & Market Insight:

  • Work closely with the sales and technical teams to understand customer needs and market trends.
  • Collect feedback from customers, partners, and prospects to refine messaging and positioning.
  • Assist in creating compelling proposals and bid documents for prospective clients.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence, including competitor activities and customer feedback, to inform marketing strategies.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Unlock partnerships such as shopping malls, small and medium businesses and outlet arrangement to drive sales and distribution of key product lines.
  • Create and foster collaboration with relevant and key partners to deliver on the company’s mandate of providing energy solutions.
  • Manage the brand’s representation in events, sponsorships, and partnerships

Reporting:

  • Generate quarterly marketing communications report and insight for management review.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Growth in brand engagement and visibility.
  • Lead generation and campaign ROI.
  • Quality and consistency of marketing materials.
  • Promptness in addressing Corporate and Internal Communications Need.
  • Social media growth and engagement metrics.
  • Event success and customer feedback.

Qualifications and Skills
Education / Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a marketing communications role.
  • Experience within the renewable energy, technology, or engineering sectors is a significant advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEO/SEM tools etc).
  • Excellent content creation skills, including writing, editing, and storytelling.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS).
  • Proficiency in using social media for business.
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing capabilities are a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
  • A creative and strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and the renewable energy transition in Nigeria.
  • Proximity to Lekki is a plus.
