In 1993, a group of passionate and concerned private sector leaders representing key economic sectors conceived the Nigerian Economic Summit (NES) and sustained it as a platform for bringing together private sector leaders and senior public sector officials to discuss and dialogue on the future of the Nigerian Economy. Three years later, in 1996, the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) was established and incorporated as a non-profit, non-partisan private sector organisation with a mandate to promote and champion the reform of the Nigerian economy into an open, private sector-led globally competitive economy. Over the years, NESG has achieved significant progress in the areas of research outputs, execution of programmes, seminars, conferences and workshops aimed at facilitating the formulation and implementation of social and economic reform programmes for the growth and transformation of the Nigerian economy. NESG has emerged as the most notable platform for public-private dialogue in Nigeria. During this period, the Group has established an excellent working relationship with the Government of Nigeria, the public sector, private sector, and other stakeholders.

Job Overview

  • As a Content Officer at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, you will be instrumental in shaping the visual aspects of our brand across multiple platforms.
  • This role involves collaborating with cross functional teams to create compelling designs that communicate our brand’s vision and values effectively.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design visually compelling designs for digital and print media, including social media content, reports, infographics, presentations, and branding materials.
  • Develop and maintain NESG’s visual identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-quality designs for web and mobile interfaces (UI/UX).
  • Optimize graphics for various digital platforms while ensuring fast loading times and responsiveness.
  • Create infographics, banners, and promotional materials for NESG events.
  • Develop persuasive and audience-specific copy for campaigns, event promotions, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Ensure all content aligns with NESG’s brand voice, style guidelines, and messaging strategy.
  • Adapt technical research reports into reader-friendly summaries, infographics, and well-designed thought leadership pieces.
  • The ability to edit short-form video content for promotional and advocacy purposes is an added advantage.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to improve digital experiences.
  • Design intuitive user flows, sitemaps, and interactive prototypes.
  • Work with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
  • Stay updated on UI/UX trends, accessibility standards, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • Branding and Design Certification.
  • Relevant post-graduate degree/Certification(s) will be an added advantage.
  • Proven graphic design experience with a strong portfolio of work.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present ideas and designs effectively.
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation with a keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  • Organisation and time management skills.
  • Experience in motion graphics and video editing.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and other visual design tools.
  • Experience with Figma, Sketch, or other UI/UX design tools.
  • Strong understanding of branding principles, typography, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
