Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Core Network Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize IP core network infrastructure to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable service delivery. The role involves network design review, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and providing second-level support across enterprise and service provider environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, monitor, and maintain IP core network infrastructure
- Provide Level 2 network support for service issues and customer escalations
- Monitor network performance, security, and capacity
- Troubleshoot and resolve network faults proactively
- Interface with ISPs for integration and issue resolution
- Support IP planning and service design reviews
- Review and maintain network diagrams and documentation
- Participate in network transition briefings and proof-of-concepts
- Support team development and knowledge sharing
Requirements & Qualifications:
- BSc/HND in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a telecom or IP service provider environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco and Mikrotik routers
- Solid knowledge of MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, VPNs, IP security, and switching
- Experience with enterprise and service provider network infrastructure
- Knowledge of fiber, microwave radio, LTE, and VoIP
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and collaborate effectively
Certifications (Advantageous):
- CCNP / ENCOR / SPCOR, MTCINE, PMP, ITIL
