Job Summary

  • Afripoint Group is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to protect the organization’s information systems, networks, and digital assets from cyber threats.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to security incidents while ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems, networks, servers, and applications for suspicious activities and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits across company platforms.
  • Investigate, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, breaches, and alerts in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain security controls, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Develop, update, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensure secure configuration of servers, cloud infrastructure, databases, and applications.
  • Collaborate with software developers, DevOps, and IT teams to integrate security best practices into system design and deployment.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for identified threats.
  • Manage access controls, user privileges, and identity management systems.
  • Prepare incident reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation for management review.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cyber threats, attack vectors, and security technologies.
  • Support regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., NDPR, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS where applicable).
  • Conduct cybersecurity awareness training for staff and promote a security-first culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ hands-on experience in cybersecurity, information security, or IT risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, system security, and application security principles.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and security monitoring platforms.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage).
  • Understanding of encryption, authentication, access control, and secure coding practices.

Professional Certifications (Advantage):

  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
  • CISSP
  • CISM
  • CompTIA Security+
  • ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor

Work Conditions:

  • Onsite role based in Ikeja, Lagos State
  • May require after-hours support during security incidents.
