Kuda is free of ridiculous banking charges and great at helping customers budget, spend smartly, and save more.

Role Overview

  • This is a critical, high-impact role within the Group Finance department. You will be the go-to person for all matters related to transactional data, working across all business departments to develop a deep understanding of our data structure.
  • The core focus of this role is to ensure Group Finance has access to up-to-date, accurate dashboards and KPIs. You will be responsible for maintaining our central KPI database, reviewing definitions, and driving the business towards a single source of truth for all financial and operational metrics. You will also support the team with ad-hoc business intelligence analytics to drive strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

Data Quality & Integrity

  • Perform end-to-end reconciliation of transactional data across all key systems (e.g., core banking platform [Nerve], ERP [D365/Xero], and management accounts) to ensure 100% data completeness and accuracy.
  • Validate that product transaction flows and volumes match financial records.
  • Support the migration of transactional data from our legacy systems onto ERP and legacy accounting systems.
  • Provide critical support to the Finance team during audits, conducting ad-hoc analysis on revenue recognition, historical manual adjustments, and other data requests.
  • Drive data consistency by identifying, explaining, and eliminating manual adjustments, ensuring all processes are automated and auditable.
  • Govern our BI environment by decommissioning unused reports (e.g., in Looker) to establish and maintain a single source of truth for all reporting.

KPI Database & Dashboard Management

  • Own, maintain, and enhance the central Finance KPI database, establishing it as the single source of truth for Finance, Growth, Product, and other departments.
  • Consolidate existing reports (e.g., Ops Report, Performance Report) into the central KPI database to streamline reporting.
  • Prepare and automate dynamic dashboards for the visual representation of Management Accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary, documenting all KPI definitions and making them accessible to the entire organization.
  • Automate month-end and month-to-date (MTD) KPI updates for all key metrics.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to design and build MTD Budget vs. Actuals dashboards for periodic, real-time reporting to the Executive Committee (ExCo).

Ad-Hoc BI Analysis

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ad-hoc analysis and data requests from Finance and other departments, investigating trends and answering key business questions.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Growth, and Product teams to investigate and report on trends in key financial metrics.
  • Support the Growth team by providing finance-related data points required to develop an accurate marketing attribution model.
  • Analyze and present financial metrics in response to queries from town halls or other leadership forums.

Business Development & Finance Operations Support

  • Partner with the Finance and Product teams to ensure any new revenue stream or product is correctly integrated from a transactional data perspective and can be accurately reported in legacy accounting systems and ERP.
  • Play a key role in the month-end closing process, ensuring all transaction-level revenue and metrics are accurate and reconciled.
  • Help define, build, and visualize the company's revenue model within our BI tools.
  • Contribute to business development and expansion-related calls as the data expert, when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Financial Analysis role.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, or a high-growth digital/tech company is strongly preferred.
  • Expert-level SQL skills for data extraction, manipulation, and complex analysis are essential.
  • Advanced proficiency in BI and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau) with a proven track record of building impactful dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting, revenue recognition, FX, and management accounts.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Xero) and data warehouses/cubes.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
