Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is a Nigerian Non Governmental Organization (NGO). WEWE's goal is to empower communities to access health care, safe water, good nutrition, micro credits for income generating activities and education. WEWE is governed by a board of trustees.
Educational Qualification:
- Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Film/Media Studies, Fine Arts, or related fields
- Diploma or certificate course in videography, cinematography, or digital media.
- Applicants must have their own camera to perform the job.
- Two samples of previous video editing work done as reference.
- At least two professional references.
Required Experience:
- Applicants should have a minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in videography, video editing, or media production
- Applicants should be proficient in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Capcut, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects).
- Applicants should know camera operation, lighting, and sound recording.
- Applicants should have a strong storytelling ability and creativity in visual presentation.
- Applicants should have a good understanding of YouTube algorithms, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and digital content optimization.
- Applicants should have experience in Live Streaming Video and Audio in real-time.
- Extremely strong computer skills, with knowledge of relevant publishing software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Desktop applications Publishing (Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, PDF, Illustrator, InDesign, CorelDraw, and Canva).
- Experience in Media Production, Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Mailchimp, Google Forms, and Instagram).
- Extremely strong in written and oral English language with research writing skills.
- Superior oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on creative approaches, attention to detail, and efficient delivery methods.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- S/he will collaborate with staff to understand training objectives and content.
- S/he will develop video outlines, shot lists, and visual storytelling approaches for each training session.
- S/he will prepare filming locations, ensuring proper lighting, sound, and background setup.
- S/he will record training sessions, presentations, and demonstrations by managers.
- S/he will operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to ensure clear visuals and sound.
- S/he will capture supplementary footage (slides, charts, office activities) to enrich training videos.
- S/he will edit raw footage into structured training modules (adding graphics, subtitles, transitions, and branding).
- S/he will integrate PowerPoint slides, infographics, or screen recordings where necessary. S/he will ensure videos are optimized for YouTube (titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails).
- S/he will work with the IT team to schedule and publish training videos.
- S/he will monitor video performance and suggest improvements for engagement and clarity.
- S/he will prepare and test all necessary equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting, batteries, storage devices, etc.).
- S/he will capture candid and emotional moments that highlight the theme of the training
- S/he will record short interviews with trainers
- S/he will deliver a short highlight video (2–4 minutes) summarizing the training
- S/he will submit deliverables no later than 3 working days after the video shooting
- Any other assigned duties from the supervisor
