Health Care Development Focus Initiative (HECADF) is a registered non-governmental, non-profit women-led organization founded in 2008 and officially incorporated in 2010. Driven by a deep commitment to promoting human dignity, HECADF addresses the interconnected challenges of poverty, poor health, and social marginalization. Our mission is to enhance the optimum integrated development of people through community engagement and services focused on Social cohesion, Nutrition, SRHR, GBV, WASH, Health, Protection, and Livelihood Skills. We are seeking a passionate and skilled IT & Media Officer Volunteer to support our organization’s technology and communications needs. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, tech-savvy, and committed to using digital tools to amplify social impact.
Role Summary:
Reporting directly to the Program Manager, The IT & Media Officer (Volunteer) will provide technical support for IT systems, ensure smooth operations of office technology, and manage the organization’s digital and social media presence. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on IT and communications experience while contributing to a growing nonprofit organization.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Support & Systems Management:
- Provide technical assistance for staff on hardware, software, and network issues.
- Maintain IT systems, internet connectivity, and office equipment.
- Support cyber security and data protection practices.
- Assist with software installation, updates, and IT troubleshooting.
- Train staff on IT tools and digital best practices.
Media & Communications:
- Manage HECADF’s social media platforms and online presence.
- Design graphics, flyers, and multimedia content to promote organizational activities.
- Support photography, videography, and documentation of field activities.
- Update and maintain the organization’s website and newsletters.
- Collaborate with program teams to create compelling content for advocacy and donor engagement.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent in IT, Media, Communications, or a related field.
- Basic experience in IT support, digital content creation, or media management (volunteer or paid).
- Strong understanding of computer systems, troubleshooting, and software tools.
- Skills in photography, videography, or graphic design are an added advantage.
- Familiarity with social media management, Canva, Photoshop, or similar design tools.
- Good communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a nonprofit environment.
