Key Responsibilities
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Lead the design and implementation of the program’s M&E plan, aligned with national health M&E strategies and information systems.
- Oversee routine data collection, analysis, and reporting to monitor program performance and inform adaptive management.
- Ensure high-quality, timely, and reliable data for assessing progress toward malaria elimination targets.
- Coordinate and conduct regular Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) and field monitoring visits in collaboration with program and government partners.
- Ensure routine service data entry into DHIS 2.0 from sub-national levels and compliance with national M&E standards.
- Develop and maintain the M&E Operational Manual to guide all M&E processes, tools, and data quality protocols.
- Lead periodic evaluations, assessments, baseline and end-line surveys, and operational research studies.
Knowledge Management and Learning
- Promote data-driven learning and adaptive management by organizing learning sessions, reflection meetings, and after-action reviews.
- Support the development of learning agendas and documentation of best practices, case studies, and success stories.
- Facilitate cross-learning within Famkris teams and between partners to strengthen the effectiveness of malaria interventions.
- Coordinate the dissemination of research and survey findings to internal and external stakeholders, tailoring messages to audience needs.
- Implement beneficiary feedback mechanisms and ensure community voices inform program improvement.
Management and Coordination
- Collaborate with program and finance teams to manage the M&E budget and ensure efficient resource use.
- Supervise and mentor M&E officers, providing on-the-job support and coaching to strengthen data management capacity.
- Ensure adherence to Famkris and donor M&E policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Prepare and submit high-quality program reports, including biannual performance reports.
- Represent Famkris at M&E and malaria technical working groups, coordination forums, and stakeholder engagements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Demography, Development Planning, Social Sciences, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive experience in monitoring and evaluation within public health or large-scale social sector programs.
- Demonstrated experience in malaria programs and projects, including data analysis, reporting, and coordination with NMEP or state malaria programs.
- Strong technical knowledge of M&E methodologies, including household surveys, qualitative and quantitative assessments, and operations research.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (DHIS 2.0, Stata, SPSS, Power BI, or MS Excel).
- Excellent understanding of Nigeria’s Health Management Information System (HMIS) and data reporting structures.
- Experience building capacity and providing technical support to M&E and program teams.
- Exceptional analytical, presentation, and report-writing skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for working effectively with government, donors, and partners.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of Nigerian local languages is an asset.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
