Job Description
- We are looking for a network engineer who will be designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
- You will also be responsible for maintaining and supporting our growing network infrastructure by being part of a system engineering team that is responsible for designing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
Responsibilities
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.
- Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arranging scheduled upgrades
- Investigating faults in the network
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Qualifications / Requirements
- A minimum of B.Sc / HND in Computer Engineering/Science with not less than 3 years working experience in relevant field.
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience
- CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued).
