Description
- Maduka University is seeking a skilled and innovative Node.js Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services that support the university’s academic, administrative, and student management systems.
- The ideal candidate will play a key role in building secure, high-performance digital platforms that enhance the university’s technological ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.js
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
- Integrate third-party services, payment gateways, and internal systems
- Collaborate with front-end developers, UI/UX designers, and database administrators
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Implement security and data protection measures
- Manage database systems (MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment processes
- Maintain documentation for technical specifications and system architecture
- Provide technical support and system upgrades as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years experience as a Node.js Developer
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and the Node.js runtime environment
- Experience with Express.js or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of database technologies (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with Git version control systems
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Competencies:
- Experience developing educational or ERP systems
- Knowledge of microservices architecture
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker.
