Contract
BlueChip Technologies is a leading business application firm focused exclusively on assisting organizations in planning, designing, implementing and operating business application solutions and strategies that are central to creating and maintaining a competitive business advantage.

  • This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer passionate about container orchestration, DevOps, and platform reliability. You’ll design, automate, and optimize large-scale OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters that power mission-critical applications across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities

Cluster Architecture & Deployment

  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters (on-prem and hybrid cloud).
  • Deploy and manage containerized workloads, ensuring scalability, fault tolerance, and optimal performance.
  • Implement multi-tenancy, ingress, and network policies to secure and segment workloads.

Automation & CI/CD Integration

  • Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code using tools like Ansible, Terraformand Helm.
  • Integrate OpenShift with CI/CD pipelines using GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Tekton, Jenkins) to streamline continuous deployment.
  • Automate cluster operations—provisioning, scaling, patching, and backup—through scripting (Bash/Python) and API integrations.

Monitoring & Reliability

  • Implement observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and EFK/ELK stacks for proactive monitoring and alerting.
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and regular health checks on cluster resources.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for critical platform issues (P1/P2 escalations).

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce RBAC, Pod Security Policies, and NetworkPolicies to ensure least privilege access and compliance.
  • Implement image scanning and vulnerability management using tools like Aqua Security, Trivy, or Clair.
  • Collaborate with the InfoSec team to align container platform security with organizational standards (CIS, NIST, ISO 27001).

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Partner with development, DevOps, and cloud teams to optimize deployment pipelines and application performance.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform engineering best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in container orchestration and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Proven experience deploying and administering Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) and Kubernetes at scale.
  • Expertise in Linux system administration and network fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, ingress/egress).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitOps principles, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Proficiency with automation and scripting tools (Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Bash, Python).
  • Experience integrating Kubernetes with cloud providers (AWS EKS, Azure AKS, or GCP GKE).
  • Familiarity with container security, policy management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
