Role Description
- This is a contract-based hybrid role located in Lagos, Nigeria, with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, defining business requirements, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather information, documenting business workflows, and delivering actionable insights. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills to support decision-making and improve business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial
Provide actionable insights to help stakeholders minimize costs and enhance financial efficiency.
- Identify potential areas for cost reduction or process improvements within proposed projects.
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to ensure cost-related strategies align with organizational priorities.
- Interpret these metrics to assess whether a project aligns with the organization's financial objectives and risk tolerance.
- Provide forecasts that help stakeholders understand the long-term financial implications of implementing or rejecting a project.
- Use financial modeling techniques to project future costs and benefits over time.
- Conduct thorough assessments of proposed projects to determine their financial feasibility.
- Analyze potential costs, benefits, and risks associated with each project to guide investment decisions.
Internal
- Review and assess current workflows to identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks.
- Gather data and insights to understand how processes impact operational effectiveness.
- Work with departments to ensure an in-depth understanding of core processes.
- Create detailed documentation of workflows, business rules, and operational procedures.
- Develop clear and comprehensive process flow diagrams to map each step.
- Maintain and update documentation to reflect any changes or optimizations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Propose solutions for reducing redundant tasks and enhancing productivity.
- Collaborate with teams to implement process changes and monitor outcomes.
- Conduct gap analyses to compare current processes with desired outcomes.
- Highlight inefficiencies that may be hindering performance or compliance.
- Suggest corrective actions to address gaps and meet business objectives.
- Develop recommendations to optimize resources, reduce costs, or improve speed.
- Present improvement plans to stakeholders with a clear rationale and expected benefits.
- Assist in planning and executing changes to integrate these improvements.
- Ensure that all process changes are in line with organizational goals and strategy.
- Validate that processes support key objectives, such as customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
- Regularly review processes to confirm they continue to meet evolving business needs.
- Ensure all processes comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify risks associated with non-compliance and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Document compliance requirements within process documentation.
- Gather and manage business requirements related to process optimization.
- Prioritize requirements to focus on those with the highest impact on operations.
- Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure alignment with objectives using different Software delivery methodologies – Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies – Backlog refinement, Daily standup Meeting etc
- Report on an ad-hoc basis on specific projects as and when necessary
Customer
- Conduct surveys, focus groups, and interviews to capture direct feedback from customers.
- Use data analytics to interpret feedback trends and identify areas for product or service improvements.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to gain insights into customer challenges and preferences.
- Analyze customer data to identify patterns in usage, complaints, and areas for enhancement.
- Ensure that product and service offerings are designed to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Recommend feature enhancements or new offerings that could drive higher engagement and adoption.
- Propose improvements based on market analysis, aiming to increase customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- Benchmark the company’s offerings against competitors, focusing on differentiators that can attract and retain customers.
Stakeholder
- Work closely with product owners, technical teams, and leadership to capture business and technical requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to refine requirements and ensure all perspectives are considered.
- Evaluate and prioritize requirements based on business value, customer impact, and resource availability.
- Negotiate with stakeholders to balance immediate needs with long-term strategic goals.
- Communicate effectively to set clear expectations regarding project scope, timelines, and potential trade-offs.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust throughout project cycles.
- Work as a bridge between business and IT teams, translating business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and are feasible within the technical environment.
- Oversee and coordinate all technical activities, the activities of direct reports and ensure all transaction and administrative documentation is recorded and available for business use.

Requirements
Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience which includes
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an area of specialization; with experience in supervising others
- Experience working in a medium organization.
- Experience in Business analysis function
Education:
- First degree in related discipline
- Fluent in English
- CBAP certification (not mandatory)
