Job Summary
- This role involves a deep understanding of IP networking, IP/MPLS technologies, SRV6, MBPN, and the evolution of mobile networks from 2G/3G/4G/5G to their convergence with IP and with focus on integration, deployment and maintenance of both the IP- based backbone, IP- Core and DCN nodes that carries voice, data traffic.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support 9mobile IP/ MPLS Backbone Network, Technologies such as SDH, MPLS Core, MP-BGP, VPNs, VPLS, L3VPN, Metro, MPLS, Fast Rerouting, VRRP, BFD etc.
- Optimizing network performance and capacity to meet the demands of the mobile network.
- Facilitate requirement discussions and determine QoS requirements and traffic engineering to support IP backbone VRF elements.
- Review all changes to network configuration for technical accuracy and impact and provide Multi-Protocol Network problem resolutions.
- Analyzing network key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess network health and identify areas for improvement
- Responsible for end-to-end IP integrations for core switching equipment, VAS nodes, third party VPN, and GGSN /SGSN gateways nodes and interconnect nodes into IP network.
- Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to IP/MPLS operations in a telecom environment
- Designing and deploying IP/MPLS networks for mobile backbone operations, including transmission, core, and data networks.
- Participate in new sites and equipment’s acceptance test with vendor for all IP nodes following project-based statement of requirement (SOR).
- Understanding the evolution of 2G/3G/4G networks and their convergence with IP technologies
- Relate closely with the planning team and come up with schedules for all datacom operational projects.
Education and Experience
- First degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Four (4) to Seven (7) years post NYSC work experience
- Added advantage will be certification in Cisco, Juniper, and Huawei
- An industry experience is mandatory.
