GIG Logistics is a courier and logistics services company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. The company has service centres in Nigeria, Ghana and the United States of America.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the organisation’s telematics systems, ensuring all vehicles and devices are properly installed, functional, and updated.
- Monitor fleet activity in real-time, including vehicle location, driver behaviour, fuel consumption, and route optimisation.
- Generate and analyse telematics reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Support fleet operations in reducing fuel costs, idle times, excessive speeding, and unauthorised vehicle use.
- Track compliance with company policies and regulatory standards (driver hours, safety requirements, etc.).
- Investigate telematics alerts, incidents, or irregularities and escalate findings to fleet/operations management.
- Liaise with the IT department and telematics service providers for system upgrades, troubleshooting, and integrations.
- Train and support drivers, fleet staff, and managers on proper use of telematics tools and dashboards.
- Ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of telematics data.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives such as predictive maintenance, route planning, and fuel efficiency programs.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of telematics systems (e.g., Geotab, Samsara, Fleet Complete, Verizon Connect, or similar).
- Ability to interpret and analyse large sets of fleet and driver data.
- Problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present insights clearly.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and data visualisation tools.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Basic technical knowledge of vehicle operations is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 2–4 years’ experience in fleet management, transport operations, or telematics systems.
- Experience using fleet tracking and monitoring software.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements for fleet and driver safety
