University Press PLC (UPPLC) was founded in 1949 under the name of Oxford University Press Nigeria, and has grown to become one of the oldest, most experienced and the Nation’s Foremost Publishers of materials for educational and for general reading. At incorporation as a public liability company in 1978,the Company’s name was changed to University Press Limited with anauthorisedshare capital of 8,000,000 Ordinary shares of 50k each. Job Description
- Maintain and update the company website.
- Ensure website uptime, performance, and responsiveness.
- Monitor and troubleshoot website issues; liaise with hosting service providers when needed.
- Upload, edit, and manage website content (text, graphics, and multimedia).
- Administer and monitor web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console).
- Ensure website security and perform regular backups.
- Manage domain registrations, SSL certificates, and hosting services.
- Document all changes, procedures, and updates made to the site.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned
Qualifications & Required Skills
- A relevant first degree (B.Sc. / HND) in Computer Science /Information Technology with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division/Lower Credit.
- Minimum of three (3) years proven experience in a similar position
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal).
- Familiarity with web hosting platforms (e.g., cPanel, WHM) and domain management.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g. Selar) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of website accessibility and security best practices
- Not more than 35 years of age.
