Brand Strategist at VerifyMe

VerifyMe is building the Nigerian trust infrastructure by offering digital identity and verification services to a wide range of industries and the retail market. Licensed by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), our verification services are available by API or via our full-service Managed Verification Platform. Our customers can leverage our services to enable contactless customer onboarding, confirm National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), and Driver’s License (FRSC) and secure e-commerce transactions using our AI-powered facial recognition and liveness detection technology. All our verifications are compliant with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Tier III and Anti-Money Laundering (AML), we give decision-makers the tools to assess suitability for financial services and employment.

Job Summary

  • The Brand Strategist owns the identity, positioning, and creative direction of all brands under VerifyMe. This role ensures consistency of messaging and visuals across all touchpoints and provides strategic direction to creative and execution teams.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Identity & Positioning

  • Develop, refine and maintain brand guidelines, tone of voice, and messaging for VerifyMe, QoreID, Pluto, and Gova.
  • Define the brand narrative and ensure alignment across all products.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to inform brand strategy.

Creative Direction

  • Develop creative briefs and oversee concept development.
  • · Create communication themes for campaigns, PR, and sales collateral.
  • Guide the Creative team on visual execution.
  • Approve campaign creative concepts and event concept and branding direction.

Strategic Insights & Collaboration

  • Conduct periodic competitor and audience research.
  • Recommend events aligned with brand strategy.
  • Advise the Senior Marketing Manager on message direction for campaigns and events
  • Support Growth Marketing with messaging alignment for paid campaigns.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Branding, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in brand strategy, marketing strategy, or creative strategy roles.
  • Proven experience developing and managing brand identity systems and brand positioning strategies.
  • Strong understanding of brand architecture, audience segmentation, and market insights.
  • Experience developing creative briefs and guiding creative teams to translate strategy into execution.
  • Ability to conduct market research, competitor analysis, and audience insight development to inform strategic decisions.
  • Experience working closely with creative, marketing, and product teams in executing brand campaigns.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple brands, campaigns, and strategic initiatives simultaneously.
