Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange is a commodities Exchange that trades on Agricultural Commodities, Currencies, Oil and Gas and Solid Mineral Commodities. We are looking to partner with various stakeholders in the Nigerian Commodities Ecosystem ranging from farmers, aggregators, cooperative societies, Commodities associations, FMCGS, Banks, Insurance Companies, Certification Agents, Ship, tank farms, Silos, warehouse Owners and many more.

  • The CTO will provide strategic leadership and technical vision to drive the development, implementation and management of our Exchange’s digital infrastructure. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, security and reliability of our trading platforms while spearheading innovation in clearing, settlement and market data systems.
  • The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between complex financial engineering and cutting-edge technology to position the Exchange as a leader in the global commodities market.

Education/ Professional Certification & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10–12 years in IT [industry experience], with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (CTO, Head of IT or Engineering Director).
  • Proven experience in building or managing Electronic Trading Platforms (ETP), Order Management Systems (OMS), or Clearing and Settlement engines.
  • Deep understanding of scalable architectures, microservices, and high-frequency data processing. Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cybersecurity frameworks is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in managing large-scale data warehouses, real-time market data dissemination, and analytics.

Regulatory & Strategic Knowledge

  • Strong grasp of the regulatory landscape governing financial markets and commodity trading (e.g., SEC or relevant regional authorities).
  • Expert knowledge of IT security protocols, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity management.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technology strategy with business goals, including digital transformation and the adoption of emerging tech (e.g., Blockchain for warehouse receipts).

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams (DevOps, QA, Backend, Frontend).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to the Board of Directors and external regulators.
  • A "builder" mindset with the ability to pivot between high-level strategy and hands-on problem-solving during critical system incidents.
